Echocardiography or echo, is a painless test that uses sound waves to create moving pictures of your heart. The pictures show the size and shape of your heart. A healthy heart must have an Ejection Fraction of 60% which means that each time your heart contracts it pumps 60% of the blood from the Left Ventricle to the Aorta. If the ejection fraction is low it means that heart will have to work more to pump the same amount of blood and this may slowly lead to heart failure. So getting an echocardiography regularly is a cheap and effective way of finding about the health of your heart.
