TESTICULAR ULTRASOUND

The two testicles are the primary male reproductive organs. They produce sperm and the male sex hormone testosterone. Scrotum is the sac which hangs below the penis and contains the two testicles. Male partner in the marriage is sometimes advised to undergo ultrasound of the scrotum to identify the cause of male infertility. Scrotum ultrasound also helps in evaluating the extent of any kind of injury during a trauma to the testicles. It could be testicular torsion which is twisted testicles. Each testicle connects to the rest of the body by a spermatic cord. This tube contains an artery and a vein. The tube also includes the vas deferens, which carries sperm from the testicles to the urethra.
